Corinto
To be legally considered a Malvasia delle Lipari DOC, the coranto nero must be 5-8% of the blend, passito, together with malvasia bianca of the archipelago. In this wine, the corinto plays a little more than a colouring role. It has recently been rediscovered as a single variety, both as a crunchy, fruity, young and sapid dry red, as a simple and pleasant rosé, and as a velvety and intriguing passito, which does not disdain long ageing in wood.
